Two-Day Screening of Documentary Film, First.
May 2-3, 2009 – Rhinebeck and Rosendale, NY – Local first-time filmmakers Eve Waltermaurer and Hazel Gurland invite you into the bedrooms of ten women, ages 16 to 89, as they talk about their “first” times. First, a documentary exploring the various first sexual experiences of women spanning different backgrounds and ages, from first kiss to first orgasm and all that happens in between, was released by Waltermaurer and Gurland in 2008 and has since been screened across the United States. These Hudson Valley filmmakers are now sharing the film at home for the first time the first weekend in May as a fund raiser for the local chapter of Planned Parenthood.
First will be screened on Saturday, May 2nd at Upstate Films beginning at 2:00 and on Sunday, May 3rd at the Rosendale Theater beginning at 3:00. Both screening will be followed by a Q&A with the directors and a discussion moderated by Planned Parenthood’s Jane Elven. Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased in advance by going to
http://www.firstdoc.ticketleap.com or at the door just prior to each screening. Seating is limited and you are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
First will make you happy, it will make you sad, it will make you titillated, and it will make you think. This event promises to change how you see yourself and the women in your lives.
