Saying Farewell to one of the Great Ones…

I am celebrating the life of Paul Newman today.
I’m not watching any of his films, though.
Well, not yet at least (the night is still young).

I’ve spent most of my afternoon corresponding with people about the loss of a Hollywood icon.
We’ve been chatting about the seasoned career of Newman and how he just couldn’t be dead. Cool Hand Luke doesn’t just die… I mean, he doesn’t even age, right?

Anyway, in honor of Newman’s fantastic talent and longevity…I have compiled a list of my most celebrated PN films; these span from the days watching him on my grandfather’s old 32″ wooden Zenith to just last month at an outdoor festival in Massachusetts.

Nobody’s Fool (1994)
The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)
The Color of Money (1986)
Absence of Malice (1981)
The Towering Inferno (1974)
The Sting (1973)
Cool Hand Luke (1967)
What a Way to go! (1964)
The Hustler (1961)
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)

Of course, as always, send me yours…
